GAM’s defeat is an embarrassing loss, losing their spot at MSI 2025

In 2025, many tournaments have modified their formats, which has significantly increased the competitiveness. Coupled with the Fearless Draft, there have been numerous surprising results, and recently, one of them was the unexpected loss of Top Esports to Team WE. This defeat not only eliminated TES from competing for MSI 2025, making them the next team after Karmine Corp to have participated in First Stand 2025 but missed out on Vancouver, but it also led TES to establish a “record” worth forgetting.

TES is sinking into the depths of disappointment.
TES is sinking into the depths of disappointment.

Since the Summer Split of 2023, TES has not achieved any accomplishments aside from winning the Split 1 of LPL this year to secure a spot at First Stand. However, it is noteworthy that at that First Stand, TES brought shame to LPL by losing almost all matches with a score of 0-2, and only managed to defeat a very weak Team Liquid. Even a small region team like CFO was able to demolish TES.

Specifically, TES ranked 4th in Summer 2023, 2nd in Spring 2024, 3rd in Summer 2024, and recently finished 5th-6th in Split 2 of 2025. Clearly, as a hope of LPL, TES’s performance is simply unacceptable.

GAM’s defeat still leaves a chance but it’s very slim

In fact, LPL still has one more Split 3 phase for teams to compete for spots at the World Championship. However, with their recent performances, TES has been too inconsistent, and many LPL fans admit this team looks strong on the surface but individually lacks stability and doesn’t deserve their trust. TES has let their fans down not only now but also in the past. A notable example is their defeat to GAM when they were the 2nd seed of LPL at the World Championship.

When TES is serious, they are indeed a formidable name, capable of making any top team “pay the price,” as when they defeated Gen.G at the Esports World Cup 2024. The only thing that saddens their fans is that TES’s inconsistency seems to occur more frequently when they are serious.
