GAM is Preparing for Major Roster Changes
The 2025 season is arguably one of the most tumultuous for GAM since the team made its debut in the professional League of Legends arena. Once expected to be the “big brother” of VCS, helping Vietnam dominate the LCP and participate in all international tournaments, GAM has faced continuous ups and downs. The peak of this was their recent defeat against Team SecretWhales, a familiar foe in VCS, marking the first time since 2017 that they failed to qualify for the World Championship due to performance issues.
GAM is likely to undergo significant roster changes.
Of course, for a team that has always been heavily invested like GAM, this is unacceptable. Recently, on his streaming channel, the renowned VCS commentator – Hoàng Luân, also stated that GAM will likely undergo major roster changes soon. He further suggested that only Kiaya might be guaranteed to remain with the yellow-black team.
GAM’s Changes Are Predictable
In reality, it may not take a high level of expertise to conclude that GAM will experience significant changes after the 2025 season ends. With the LCP representatives confirming GAM’s participation in the ASI (the second-tier League of Legends tournament, before the 2025 World Championship), any personnel changes (if they occur) will likely take place after this tournament concludes, possibly even after the World Championship.
It’s also difficult for Levi to stay.
However, the question most of the Vietnamese League of Legends community is asking is: who will be replaced and who will replace them? Levi is getting older and clearly, his performance is no longer up to par. Not to mention the players who have been inconsistent like Elio, Aress, and even Emo. Additionally, GAM’s playstyle still revolves around the “core” being Kiaya, which causes many players to lose their strengths.
The next question is “Who can replace these players?” Currently, there are almost no promising new faces in VCS. Meanwhile, MVKE and TSW are unlikely to part with players as they also have not found their ideal rosters. Therefore, while GAM’s roster changes may happen, it will certainly be a challenging journey.
