Vietnamese gamers often reminisce, recalling classic games from over a decade ago as part of their youth. This is also why the remake versions of these games always garner the attention of many early gamers, with some even willing to spend money to relive the nostalgia through these remakes.

Unfortunately, there are still many great games that the community eagerly awaits, yet there has been no information regarding any potential remakes. Each game has its own unique charm, appeal, and reason to be given another chance: a chance for a new generation of gamers to discover them.
GTA Original
When it comes to the GTA (Grand Theft Auto) series, many will immediately think of Vice City; however, the first installment of the series was released back in 1997. This is the only version of GTA 1 that features a top-down perspective with a camera effect like a police chase.

As time went on, the GTA installments continued to excel in graphics and achieved monumental success worldwide – a fact that can hardly be denied. However, for those gamers who knew GTA Original, the wish for a remake remains strong, not to compete with later legends but to remind everyone that this was the very first version of the famous GTA series.
Mega Man X4
While not a groundbreaking entry, Mega Man X4 is regarded as the best game in the entire series. Despite the numerous new versions that have come out, the unique charm of Mega Man X4 remains irreplaceable; just looking at the old images is enough to evoke feelings of a glorious past.

The constant struggle against relentless bosses, the hunt for hidden items in every nook and cranny created a “grinding” feeling that was addictive, even though Mega Man X4 is simply a linear platformer. Many gamers share that while they love NES games, they must acknowledge that Mega Man X4 is a blockbuster, akin to upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7.
It would be fantastic to once again witness Rockman’s powerful cannon shots or the stunning combos from Zero. A remake with new graphics but retaining the storyline and legendary bosses would surely bring back the childhood memories of many gamers.
Other Entries in the Resident Evil Series
Although it is a game still in development, previous versions of Resident Evil will likely always remain iconic in the hearts of veteran fans. If you haven’t heard of Resident Evil, it is a horror game where you play as various characters throughout the series and fight against zombies trying to take your life. What sets this game apart is that not only do you fight zombies, but you also need to find essential clues to unravel mysteries while navigating through stages. The classic jump scares and legendary monsters will surely earn applause from players when they encounter them in later installments.

The recent R.E 3 remake has made waves in the offline gaming community in general and among R.E fans in particular. The company is also in the process of developing remakes for the subsequent entries, promising to evoke many emotions for those who are fans of this horror franchise. While this game is in the process of developing its remake, it is still included in this list simply because there are still many parts that have not been remade, and it is one of the legendary games developed since 1996 up until now.
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VI can be considered the starting point for the golden age of the Final Fantasy series and has such a significant impact that it is frequently compared to its successor Final Fantasy VII – the towering figure of the JRPG genre. The standout feature of Final Fantasy VI is the Job System, which would not be revisited until Final Fantasy IX.

Additionally, Final Fantasy VI is also the version with the most playable characters in the series, totaling 14, and is noted for… lacking any iconic character. Instead, all characters are fragments that players will collect and piece together into a complete picture, balancing the stage time among themselves.

Final Fantasy VI is a game innovator in many ways, most of which cannot be fully described in words, especially in its storytelling. Therefore, a remake of Final Fantasy VI would have a tremendous impact in demonstrating just how distinct and remarkable this game truly is. Fantasy VII has had its remake, and many fans believe that Fantasy VI deserves the same treatment.
