On February 27, 2025, FPT and GAM Esports (under GAM Entertainment) announced their partnership ahead of the 2025 competition season with significant steps in a strategy to promote the professional development of Vietnamese Esports, affirming its potential and position on the international stage.
Vietnam is currently one of the fastest-growing Esports markets in Southeast Asia. According to the assessment data released by the Vietnam Recreational Esports Association (VIRESA) and OTA Network in their recently published white paper on Vietnam’s e-commerce (2022-2023), notable statistics about the Esports market have emerged. The number of participants in electronic entertainment in Vietnam reached 28.2 million people, accounting for 28.7% of the population. In 2023, the number of Esports viewers in Vietnam constituted 16% of the total population, equivalent to Indonesia and Taiwan (China). This indicates that Esports in Vietnam is growing increasingly competitive with other popular sports.
The strategy to elevate Vietnamese Esports has been officially supported by FPT and GAM Esports since their first cooperation event in August 2024. From that collaboration agreement, FPT and GAM aim to integrate eSports into various fields, products, and services within the FPT ecosystem such as: education, digital content, and telecommunications… to gradually promote, raise awareness, and attract community interest towards Esports. Notably, both parties will collaborate to vigorously implement the Esports ecosystem, major tournaments, Esports competitions, gaming events… to enhance professionalism in the field of Esports in Vietnam.
According to this comprehensive cooperation agreement, FPT will be the official sponsor of GAM in the upcoming international tournaments.
