The former World Champion sets ‘unrealistic’ goals as he dives into DOTA 2
In the history of Esports, it’s not uncommon for players from one game to transition to another. In fact, many players have even switched to rival games and achieved great success in new environments. However, when it comes to the MOBA genre, especially between League of Legends and DOTA 2, such transitions are quite rare. Recently, former World Champion Doinb has expressed his intention to become an “exception.”

According to recent sources from the LPL, Doinb has ended his streaming contract with Riot and likely will not renew it. The reason may partly stem from the fact that during his contract period, he frequently streamed DOTA 2, causing quite a stir in the community last year. On this occasion, the sources also indicated that Doinb would fully transition to professional DOTA 2 and even form a team to participate in the upcoming qualifiers for The International.

The League of Legends community in China and the international scene were shocked, and even the DOTA 2 community expressed skepticism. In reality, in DOTA 2, it’s more feasible for players to form their own teams and sustain them compared to League of Legends, as they only need to participate and win championships in various tournaments (which occur year-round) to survive. However, the problem is that DOTA 2 has many teams ranging from average to strong, and a newcomer like Doinb, who has been away from professional League of Legends for quite some time, may struggle to maintain a foothold.
– Does he really think participating in the TI qualifiers is simple?
– After talking about everything in the LPL, now he’s going to discuss DOTA 2.
– Competing or creating content?

The reality will not be simple for the former World Champion
Although he was once a very talented player in League of Legends and has had some time to familiarize himself with DOTA 2, it will be very difficult for Doinb with Valve’s game. He must participate in Major tournaments before reaching the TI qualifiers. And when even long-established DOTA 2 teams with top superstars find it hard to compete, Doinb may simply be transitioning to the new game to generate more content.
