Once a Super Marksman of the LCK, the superstar couldn’t carry his LPL team.
After Ruler returned from LPL to join Gen.G, Peyz moved from Gen.G to JDG with high hopes from himself and fans of League of Legends in the region that he could bring a breath of fresh air to this once-mighty representative of the area. However, since the arrival of the LCK superstar, JDG has also made some noteworthy additions. The only issue is that while Peyz still plays exceptionally well, the JDG players are no longer themselves.

Recently, JDG suffered a 1-3 defeat against Team WE – a team that, while still in the “Upper Triad” of the LPL, has long been unable to compete for any titles. In fact, Team WE’s lineup is only rated as average at best, if not quite poor compared to the overall level of the top teams in Chinese League of Legends. This season, the team also has some foreign players, but both are “drifted Koreans” who couldn’t compete for a position in the land of kimchi. They are Karis and Taeyoon.

It is worth mentioning that during their time in the LCK, both of these players faced Peyz several times and were unable to secure a victory. Yet, Karis and Taeyoon probably never expected that they could defeat Peyz in the LPL, especially when the former young marksman from Gen.G joined a “star-studded” team.
The community calls for the LCK superstar to leave LPL
With being eliminated from contention for the MSI 2025, JDG has temporarily halted their season here until the mid-year tournament in China concludes. Nevertheless, they have still secured a spot in Split 3 and thus have the opportunity to make a comeback for a ticket to the World Championship. However, this possibility is not small as JDG will certainly face competition from TES, BLG, and WBG. JDG’s loss also shows that WE, AL, and NIP are ready to create surprises.

On the other hand, after JDG’s defeat, many opinions suggest that Peyz should return to the LCK. Because regardless of the situation, LCK teams still demonstrate a certain level of stability, and the marksman position does not have many standout names, except for familiar faces like Ruler, Viper, or Gumayusi. Peyz himself also hails from this region, which would make it easier for him if he intends to return to the land of kimchi after the season ends.
