At the recent “Get Sync – Lotus for Work” event, Mr. Nguyen The Tan, CEO of VCCorp and Project Director of Lotus Chat, made noteworthy comments regarding the API development policy – a crucial element that helps Lotus Chat serve Vietnamese enterprises.
“We do not profit from the API. The fees are just to cover server costs, electricity, and support teams,” Mr. Tan stated.
According to him, Lotus Chat currently allows businesses to connect internal systems, build customer service bots, or create automation processes through the platform’s open APIs. Fees are only applied to large connections, accessing a lot of data, or requiring in-depth technical support, while regular needs are almost offered for free.

Mr. Tan emphasized that Lotus Chat’s current focus is not on commercializing APIs or cloud services but on creating a stable messaging platform that can be deeply embedded in enterprise systems and help optimize real work processes.
“APIs are tools for businesses to automate and reduce manual labor. If we charge for that, it would be like charging for tasks that businesses are trying to optimize. We don’t do that,” he added during the Q&A session.
Lotus Chat has already implemented many features to support enterprises, such as managing large internal groups, detailed member permissions, channeling communication by department, and especially the ability to train AI chatbots according to the company’s own documentation (Biz AI Platform).

Although this platform is still in the process of refinement and lacks advanced video calling or document sharing features like some competitors, the transparent API cost policy and the direction of “not maximizing profits at all costs” are seen as positives, especially for small and medium-sized companies.
Lotus Chat is experiencing rapid growth with over 500,000 installations within just a few weeks, and if it maintains its current pace, VCCorp representatives believe the platform could soon reach 1 million users before the end of Q3/2025.
