Information has emerged that former AL coach has “disregarded” T1, causing a stir in the community.
As known, at the 2025 World Championship, one of the most surprising teams is AL. The LPL representative had a less than stellar second half of their domestic league. However, AL showcased a completely different face at the Worlds and even defeated both Gen.G and HLE. When facing T1, they also forced the reigning world champions to take the match to a fifth game. Recently, some fans expressed dissatisfaction when former AL coach – Tabe seemed to “disregard” T1.

According to a fan translation from LPL, during a strategic discussion in preparation for the matchup against T1, AL players predicted T1 would ban Sion from Flandre. However, Coach Tabe remarked: “Are they that smart?”.
In any context, Coach Tabe’s comment not only reflects an overconfidence but can also be interpreted as an implication of disdain for the opponent. Of course, it could be that Coach Tabe did not mean it this way; he may just not believe T1 could “outsmart” the opponent. But regardless of intent, it clearly did not please the listeners and only suggests that Coach Tabe has not accurately assessed his opponent’s stature, which T1 has consistently shown at the Worlds.

– If this translation is accurate, it shows this coach is overly confident.
– He hasn’t understood why T1 is the reigning champion and the team with the most Worlds titles, while AL is just a “dark horse”.
– They are smart enough to bring out Mel and Dr. Mundo for the first time.

Coach Tabe may face T1 many more times
As he continues to compete in the LPL and is currently the head coach of JDG, there is a possibility that Tabe will have opportunities to face T1 in the future. This coach always knows how to challenge T1, but so far, he has yet to defeat Faker in BO5 matches at the Worlds, regardless of how promising his team may be.
