In recent days, news about the esports titles that will be included in the SEA GAMES 31 competition has created a huge wave in the gaming community. Besides prominent names like League of Legends, Mobile Legends, Free Fire, etc., we cannot overlook FIFA Online 4 – the top online football game in Vietnam.

A passionate love for the round ball, whether in-game or in real life
Right after hearing the news, the Vietnamese gaming community couldn’t hide their excitement, with many gamers ready to practice and register to compete with the hope of “giving their all for the Fatherland” in the future.

It is still unclear how the selection process will work, but with the competitive spirit rising among most online coaches, we will witness a FIFA Online 4 tournament larger in scale and with a more professional management system than ever before.

The excitement from Vietnamese gamers not only reflects their passion for FIFA Online 4 but also demonstrates the football spirit of the majority of Vietnamese people, whether in real life or in-game. In football, nothing is impossible, and the same goes for FIFA Online 4; the opportunity to shine is for everyone.
The FIFA Online 4 team is not made up of “novices”
One of the first concerns for most Vietnamese gamers upon hearing that FIFA Online 4 would be featured in SEA GAMES 31 is whether the players have enough professional skill to compete against opponents from Singapore, Thailand, etc.?
It’s not hard to realize that FIFA Online 4 is one of the games with a very ambitious and sustainable esports development plan, with numerous large and small tournaments held throughout the year for all levels.
In addition to the FIFA ONLINE 4 VIETNAM NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (abbreviated as FVNC) held twice a year to select the best talents in the country to participate in major tournaments in the region, FIFA Online 4 actively seeks hidden talents through student-level tournaments like the Students Cup and arcade-level competitions like the Open Cup and One Day Championship.

Looking back to 2018, during the World Finals – EA Champions Cup Winter 2018, the Vietnamese team made history against many strong opponents from leading esports nations.
Specifically, the Vietnam Immortals team, consisting of Minh Khôi Vermise, Hoàng Hiệp Maestro, and Đức Hiếu Hakumen, successfully eliminated two representatives from the “capital” of esports, South Korea, and secured the runner-up position at the FIFA Online World Finals. A feat that even the most optimistic could not believe.

Right now, gamers can also cheer for the Vietnamese players at the FIFAe CHAMPIONS CUP 21 (abbreviated FCC) – a tournament gathering many strong teams from China, South Korea, and Thailand. This can also be seen as a warm-up for the upcoming SEA GAMES 31.
SEA Games 2021 is expected to kick off at the end of November 2021, which means there are still over 8 months with many opportunities for practice from various large and small tournaments, giving gamers ample time to “try hard to improve their skills”.
