The minimap is a familiar tool for gamers, existing for a long time in the history of strategy games. It acts like a compass, guiding players on which areas they control, where the enemy’s territory is, and what resources are currently available on the map. How well one utilizes this tool is a measure of whether a player is a “noob” or skilled.

However, in the case of League of Legends, this game is increasingly developed by Riot Games to showcase player skills, leading many to sometimes neglect the minimap and forget about their teammates. Recently, a gamer and YouTuber named James Hoffman experienced this situation and decided to retaliate against the friend who abandoned him by using “Electric Shock” if that friend did not look at the minimap for too long.
He used an Eye Tracker device to monitor where his eyes were on the screen and connected it to an electric device. It seems that James is quite knowledgeable about programming, as he coded a special program for the electric device to shock the victim if the Eye Tracker did not detect them looking at the minimap. The friend who had previously abandoned James ended up receiving continuous “Electric Shocks” and eventually developed the habit of looking at the minimap.

League of Legends is a game filled with action; every second in the game can be filled with unexpected developments, and you can’t grasp everything. The minimap provides a summary of what’s happening in the game and gives players a lot of information. Make it a habit to keep an eye on the minimap yourself, and don’t wait until you get “Electric Shock” like the guy in the video to do so!
