T1 secured another victory in the LCK Summer 2020 after defeating Afreeca Freecs with a score of 2-1. Aside from some patience-testing moments for fans in Game 1, Faker’s performance in Game 3 with the champion Azir directly led to the decisive victory for T1, marking the highlight of the match.
Azir is also one of the champions that helped establish Faker’s reputation, but his smooth plays with the Emperor of Shurima never bore the audience. In Game 3 against AF, T1’s captain once again produced a highlight moment with this champion.
In a skirmish in the Mid Lane, Faker actively engaged with a “zirsec” combo (using the ultimate to knock back an opponent similar to Lee Sin’s Insec combo), taking down Fly’s Viktor in an instant. However, shortly after, other members of AF and T1 managed to arrive, turning a pick-off into a chaotic brawl.
Faker was trapped in Mordekaiser’s Realm of Death, used by Kiin, but even though he was limited by space and had no teammate assistance, Faker survived the duration of this ability and even returned tons of damage to Kiin.
After Mordekaiser’s ultimate ended, Azir retreated to the backline with less than 300 health. The highlight concluded with a dodge of Ezreal’s ultimate, which viewers described as “like having a third eye” from Faker.

Witnessing a series of incredibly smooth and synchronized plays from Faker, the gaming community was once again in awe of his level. This can be described as a play that combined all the essence of Faker: from extensive experience, mastery of the Azir champion, to extremely accurate map awareness and game reading, leaving everyone in admiration.
– Just look at how Faker handled being trapped in the Realm of Death, he clearly knows that Mordekaiser’s Q has a relatively wide range and is very hard to dodge, but when closing in on Kiin, the accuracy of using Q will be reduced (Q – Ruinous Guage has a narrower damage area on the shaft), and Kiin would also struggle to land accurate hits if Azir keeps circling around him, genius!
– I feel sorry for LS (the English commentator for LCK) whenever he has to commentate on fights involving Faker.
– Did anyone notice the dodge of Ezreal’s ultimate, I heard Faker calling that Ezreal was firing that ultimate (in the mic-check clip), and the Light Arrow came just a second later. Faker was moving away yet still managed to click to “turn around”, what kind of reflex is that?

– As the Immortal Demon King, why should he fear a few “Realms of Death”? (A play on words: Immortal contrasts with Death)
– Want to escape Mordekaiser’s ultimate and still survive? Simple, just do like in the clip.
– Faker navigates Azir’s Q-E combo like a god, he continuously dashes back and forth, causing Kiin to miss his skills repeatedly.
– I can’t even watch Faker’s gameplay screen, it feels like my old TV is changing channels, he covers everything and switches screens continuously. Ew, I’m getting dizzy.
