With an opponent also sitting in the lower half of the LCK Spring 2024 standings like Nongshim RedForce, it was certainly another opportunity for T1 to conduct tactical experiments. And with every match of Faker and his teammates, fans were eager for them to bring out more strategic champions, presenting some “unique” experiments. Not only was it about “testing champions,” but it also showcased that the star roster of T1 truly possesses great confidence and skill. As expected, T1 continued to experiment in their match against NS.

Specifically, it was the bot duo of Twisted Fate – Milio in game 2. This marked the 16th bot duo used by the pair Gumayusi – Keria. However, using TF was indeed a risky choice. This caused T1 to struggle once they lost their advantages. Moreover, NS made a bold choice by debuting Smolder in LCK history, fully exploiting the strength of this dragon champion. The loss in game 2 boosted the morale of NS players, and T1 faced a lot of challenges to secure a 2-1 victory.

The victory against NS also marked a POG for Faker and Zeus, allowing Faker to maintain his position at the top of the POG list in LCK Spring 2024 so far. At the same time, the match against NS was also notable as Faker became the first player in LCK history to reach the milestone of 900 matches. This is yet another record for the “Demon King,” showcasing his enduring presence throughout the history of the highest level League of Legends tournament in South Korea.

However, witnessing T1 truly struggle in game 2, many fans clearly expressed their worries. Some even “begged” the T1 stars to experiment but not every champion can be brought to the bot lane : “Gumayusi, please never touch Twisted Fate again until you truly master this champion. TF should only be given to Faker and only Faker should use it.”

In reality, experimenting with champions will, of course, sometimes yield unexpected results. But indeed, with the recent performance with TF, T1 may not take the risk of letting Gumayusi use TF again.
