As we know, not long ago, Riot announced that players will be able to have the same names, differing only by the ID number attached to each account. This is a new feature from Riot that started being implemented on November 20. The main benefit is that players can freely choose their account names – something that was not possible before if that name already existed. However, if those are iconic names that have gone down in League of Legends history, issues are definitely going to arise.

According to a recent statistic, there are now over 8,300 accounts with the name Hide on Bush across all League of Legends servers worldwide. Many may already know that Hide on Bush is a name that has become a part of League of Legends history as it is the ID of Faker – the G.O.A.T of the LoL scene. The name Hide on Bush has become such a brand that every time Faker performs poorly or loses form, even T1 fans use this name to “tease” the Mid Laner of T1.

In the list of the most duplicated names, almost all belong to Faker, with the name “Faker” having about 1,400 matches. Names like “T1 Faker” (over 1,800 matches) or Faker written in Hangul also have over 1,200 matches. Thus, in a short time (about over half a month) since Riot officially implemented the new naming system, the publisher has “produced” countless Fakers and Hide on Bushes.

Notably, it’s not just Faker; there are also hundreds or even thousands of Gumayusi, Oner, Zeus, or Keria versions “copying” in the servers. This is because T1 is undoubtedly the hottest name right now, after they just won the 2023 World Championship together. However, with the names related to Faker dominating in number (over 13,000 accounts with the name “Faker” or associated with Faker), the allure of the “Demon King” can only increase over time and shows no signs of diminishing.

Of course, the community still has ways to distinguish between the “real” and the “fake” when encountering these names in ranked games. But it also shows that Faker truly remains an “indispensable” brand in League of Legends worldwide, no matter how much things change.
