Despite the addition of Uzi, the performance of EDward Gaming (EDG) continues to disappoint fans. Specifically, in their last 6 matches at LPL Summer 2023, the team has lost 4 times. In fact, in their most recent match against Royal Never Give Up (RNG), EDG suffered a bitter defeat with a score of 0-2.

After the match ended, the reasons for EDG’s defeat became a hot topic for the LPL media. Therefore, EDG members have continuously faced questions about their poor performance recently. The response from EDG surprised many as they claimed they do not fully understand the current patch.
“To be honest, we don’t completely understand the version being applied in the LPL (13.11). The team compositions we are using seem to have become outdated and struggle against champions like LeBlanc or Neeko. Perhaps we need more time to study and come up with the best strategies,” EDG’s Meiko shared after the defeat against RNG.

Indeed, looking at the lineup EDG chose in the recent match, viewers could see many inconsistencies. The choice of Jayce in the Mid Lane or Gwen in the Top Lane has not been very effective in the current patch. As a result, when EDG lost the lane, they had no way to support Uzi in the Bottom Lane, leading to their overall defeat.

With the LPL Summer 2023 schedule becoming denser compared to the previous season, teams will have less time to adapt to the new patch. This could also be part of the reason for EDG’s disappointing results in recent times. In the upcoming matches, EDG will only face weaker teams like Thunder Talk Gaming or LGD Gaming. This is a good opportunity for EDG to earn points and nurture hopes of qualifying for the LPL Summer 2023 playoffs.
