Both Doinb and Uzi have admitted that any player would want to rank up with SofM. Especially mid-lane players. This point was further proven recently when Knight – a player from Top Esports, messaged to request a duo with SofM.
However, our SofM isn’t the type to easily accept any invitation, especially when he’s striving to climb the top ranks in Korea. So, Knight resorted to an “economic” tactic to appeal to Duy Cau Giay’s psychology, leading to a conversation that left fans of both players speechless:
“Knight: SofM hey!
SofM: ?
Knight: Carry me!
SofM: Why?
Knight: If you carry me, I’ll gift you a Plane (a donation gift on Douyu worth 100 RMB, about 350,000 VND)
Knight: Carry me, okay!
SofM: Ok.
Knight: Thank-you-for-the-milk.”
After that match, SofM indeed “carried” Knight with a Nocturne who had a KDA of 7/3/17. However, when checking the Douyu account, it seemed Knight hadn’t “donated” as promised, and so SofM immediately messaged him to “collect the debt”:
“SofM: Huh?
SofM: Haven’t seen the Plane anywhere.
Knight: o.o
Knight: One more game.
Knight: Win one more game and I’ll gift you.
SofM: ?
SofM: Where do you live?
SofM: Are you a catfish?
Knight: …
Knight: ??
Knight: Don’t you stream?
Knight: Ah, I see?
Knight: What are you playing?
Knight: Should I pick for you?

The LPL Spring 2021 was a tough period for both Knight and SofM. The two players, once top stars of League of Legends in China during 2020, experienced a significant decline in performance. However, both SofM and Knight worked hard and regained their levels towards the end of the season.
Although their performance in the professional arena wasn’t great, when it comes to rank climbing, SofM remains a highly “reliable” name. After the LPL Spring 2021 concluded, he immediately dove into the grind to rank up in Korea, quickly getting close to the top 10 Challenger.
Meanwhile, Knight’s mid-lane position isn’t as easy. This is a relatively challenging meta for solo lane players on ranked servers, where the influence of junglers is significant, and players can easily get snowballed and lose if they solo rank without compatible teammates.
This is why Knight is “generous” enough to donate to SofM to lure this “rank climbing expert” onto his team. Interestingly, even though he’s on a team with a jungler like Karsa, Knight seems to not trust his teammate, instead placing all his faith in SofM according to Doinb and Uzi.
