3 representatives from Vietnam made it to the top 8 of EACC SUMMER 2022
After finishing the first day of competition with 1 win and 1 draw, the Vietnamese teams (DIH Esports and ProGamer) achieved 2 consecutive victories, each with a score of 3-1. Perhaps learning from the unfortunate defeat of TT on the first day of competition, the two teams from Vietnam skillfully capitalized on their opportunities in every play.
On PLAYOFFS day 3, TonyTonyy had an amazing match, knowing his strengths and weaknesses, and choosing a suitable ball control style led to a convincing victory for TT against MCFC with a score of 3-1. Thus, all 3 representatives from Vietnam have reached Top 8 EACC Summer 2022.
Tense battles in the knockout stage
DIH faced PROG again in the match for a spot in the semifinals. DIH paid back their previous debt from the FVPL Summer finals by winning 3-1, simultaneously pushing this team into the knockout stage. DIH Esports confidently stepped into the Top 4.
In the subsequent knockout match, PROG had to face CW, a team that won against WOL in the previous match. Although CW had previously been defeated by PROG in the first round, this rematch had a very different outcome. PROG had to stop at EACC Summer 2022.
On the next competition day, with DIH already in the Top 4, fans were hopeful that the second Vietnamese team could make it to the semifinals. TonyTonyy’s first victory against MITR Coffee ignited that hope. However, with a bit of bad luck in the decisive match against KDF, TonyTonyy lost the semifinal spot to KDF.
In the Finals day, after defeating PROG, DIH had to face KDF – the team that had previously defeated TT. The match went quite smoothly for DIH in the first 2 games as the Vietnamese team secured 2 convincing victories. However, it seems that encountering too many errors and the prolonged delay in the match affected DIH’s enthusiasm in the subsequent games, leading to an unfortunate defeat after a spectacular comeback from KDF with a score of 3-2. Subsequently, KDF also crowned champions by defeating CW in the final match.
With DIH’s defeat in the semifinals, the emotional journey of the Golden Star Warriors officially came to a close. With strong marks in strategy and gameplay, we hope that our teams continue to hold firm in their victories, bringing joy to fans in the upcoming international tournaments.
