Thus, two of the six members of DRX, who were champions of the 2022 World Championship (Worlds), have officially bid farewell to the highest level international tournament in the League of Legends (LoL) scene. This was entirely predictable, especially since this season, DRX no longer has any names strong enough to create a “miracle run” like last year. Two members of DRX who won the 2022 Worlds remain with the “Blue Dragon”; one has not been able to compete regularly, while the other has run out of motivation.

DRX’s defeat was anticipated. In fact, many people even claim that it was T1 who “sent” DRX to the playoffs thanks to two losses when Faker was absent. And on the day DRX suffered defeat, T1 was also the name mentioned the most. In fact, on many forums, the community talked about Faker and his teammates even more than DRX, the main character of the event. The reason is quite simple: DRX and BeryL are the team that obliterated T1 at the 2022 Worlds finals.

One factor to mention is that, in the Support position, BeryL seems to always be the “nemesis” of Keria. In the last three consecutive Worlds, Keria’s journey has always been blocked by a team with BeryL. At the 2020 Worlds, the DRX team with Keria lost to Damwon Gaming with BeryL in the quarterfinals. The following year, Keria’s T1 lost to BeryL’s Damwon KIA in the semifinals. Finally, in the 2022 finals, Keria and T1 once again lost to DRX with BeryL leading the way. Many opinions are directly stating: “With BeryL absent, finally, Keria has a chance to become a champion.”

But of course, these are just light-hearted opinions from the LoL community on the day when the defending champions of the Worlds officially stayed home. For T1 and Keria to win the upcoming Worlds, they themselves must truly put in more effort. T1 is currently facing a lot of criticism and challenges, and certainly no one wants another empty-handed tournament for the roster of the 2023 LCK runners-up.
