Before the opening day of the MSI 2022 Rumble stage, many were worried about G2 Esports as they had to face off against the two strongest teams in the world, T1 and RNG, back-to-back. However, after some exceptionally outstanding matches, all those concerns vanished completely as G2 convincingly defeated both giants.

While the victory against T1 showcased a disciplined G2 playing a strong scaling composition for the late game, the win against RNG was heavily marked by individual brilliance. In the early game, Caps emerged as the brightest star, leading G2 to a gold advantage and competing evenly with RNG in objective fights. By the end of the game, Flakked took the spotlight with an incredible performance on Kai’Sa, dealing massive damage and taking down more than half of RNG’s lineup.

These two fantastic victories by G2 Esports serve as a strong affirmation that they are top contenders at MSI 2022 this time around. Immediately after, social media and forums dedicated to League of Legends exploded with celebrations and “bragging rights” for G2 Esports. The team’s official Twitter account even claimed that no one could stop them now. Even fans of the LEC were struggling to believe how exceptionally well G2 was performing.

With this result, the standings in the MSI 2022 Rumble stage have shifted in an incredibly interesting way. Essentially, G2 Esports solidifies their top position with two victories, while T1 and RNG are the teams trailing behind, having lost one match each. If they can maintain their high level of performance, G2 Esports promises to continue achieving even more success in the upcoming matches.
