Perhaps this is the hundredth time or more that Doinb has left people in awe with his unconventional picks that lead his team to victory. In 3 matches against LNG, he picked 3 different champions, two of which are outside the meta (Irelia and Galio). And the result? Doinb won all 3.
In the post-match interview, unable to hide his excitement as he stands on the brink of reclaiming the LPL championship title and returning to the World Championship stage, Doinb confidently claimed that he is currently the number 1 Galio player in the world:
“Interviewer: In the group stage, you chose Galio twice when your opponent locked in LeBlanc. Is it because Galio counters LeBlanc?”
Doinb: I’m not really sure about the ‘counter’ dynamics of these two champions, but I am confident that my Galio can counter the LeBlanc played by other players. ‘Best Galio in the world’ is not just a title I throw around casually.”

Indeed, Doinb is probably one of those players who, once he boasts, everyone has to nod in agreement. His caliber and out-meta “superpowers” have been proven time and again. Therefore, no one can contest his claim of being the best Galio player in the world right now.
Furthermore, with T1 also being viewed as a strong contender for a ticket to the 2021 World Championship, fans are dreaming of a showdown between the two “best Galios” of all time: Doinb and Faker.

No one can forget Faker’s Galio at the 2017 World Championship – the champion who shattered LPL’s dream of world championship glory, sending their top hope RNG home after 5 games using the Colossal Guardian in the semifinals.
As for Doinb, he hasn’t had many opportunities to “spam” Galio mid, but similarly to Kled, this champion always serves as a trump card in FPX’s gameplay. Thanks to Doinb’s diverse champion pool, Galio, despite being out of the meta, still proves to be unexpectedly effective when he uses it as a counter-pick, with LeBlanc being one of the prime victims.
Moreover, when Faker was dubbed the best Galio, it was when this champion was still very hot in the meta. Since the latter half of 2018, when Galio was not even frequently used in the support position, the Demon King has almost never used this champion. It seems that around the world, only Doinb dares to frequently bring out champions that have fallen out of the meta like this.
