On the evening of June 16th (Vietnam time), top LCK teams DWG KIA and Gen.G Esports both took to the stage. However, with KT Rolster now simply unable to match Gen.G, the match between Chovy and his teammates ended with an unsurprising result as Gen.G triumphed with a score of 2-0. Nevertheless, the match between DK and Fredit BRION afterwards drew significant attention, especially in game 1.

In game 1, both teams played with a high level of strategic focus, making it one of the most classic LCK style games from the past. For almost the entire duration of the game, both sides concentrated solely on farming and controlling major objectives. Additionally, neither team showed any willingness to engage in fights regardless of the situation. The economic disparity between the two sides remained stable throughout. It wasn’t until nearly the 36th minute that DK managed to take down 3 members of BRO in the Baron pit, which were also the only kills of the entire match.
Witnessing a match that was overly strategic and lacking in thrilling, engaging fights, the League of Legends community could not help but feel frustrated. Many comments lamented that watching game 1 of the DK – BRO match felt like torture, and some even advised those planning to watch the replays or highlights of the match to only stick to game 2.

In game 2, the pace was still quite slow. However, both sides had more skirmishes than in game 1. BRO almost managed to push the match into game 3 if not for a critical mistake at the end of the game.
With this victory, DK had a very successful debut day. And although Nuguri’s return hasn’t quite made a clear impact yet, he certainly gives DK fans a sense of reassurance. In the event DK faces T1, the Nuguri – Zeus matchup will undoubtedly play a crucial role in the success of both teams.
