DragonX is currently one of the teams with the most impressive performance in the summer 2020 season of professional League of Legends, having secured 8 wins and only 1 loss, temporarily taking the top position in the LPL Summer standings.

Their record against championship-contending teams is also quite impressive, as they have defeated both T1 and DAMWON in direct confrontations. Recently, after a smooth victory against Hanwha Life Esports, DragonX’s coach – cvMax shared some insights with the Korean media, specifically InvenGlobal, about the team’s upcoming goals.

Alongside some discussions about the differences in playstyle between LCK and other regions, DRX’s captain also expressed great confidence that his team will secure a spot at Worlds 2020 and aims to win the tournament.

LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 Schedule: Decisive Week for the Four Powerhouses

Interviewer: You mentioned that your goal is to win the world championship. In fact, you have never participated in a Worlds tournament before, do you think this could happen? What are the chances of LCK teams winning the world championship?

cvMax: Unless we win the summer tournament, we can’t predict anything. I just aim to do my best. An LCK team winning… 100%… 90%… Maybe 90%, or 80% chance that will happen.

This prediction from cvMax is considered somewhat overconfident, as in reality, during the recent Mid-Season Cup friendly tournament, LCK teams were completely outmatched by representatives from LPL, not to mention that the European region is also no slouch, and to be fair, the chances of LCK winning the tournament this year are quite slim.

Nevertheless, cvMax’s comments are understandable; even when you know how difficult the upcoming goals are, as a coach or player, you cannot show any signs of discouragement. As cvMax stated, this is just a personal prediction, and he can only aim to do his best; as for the reality, we will have to wait for Worlds 2020 to see if LCK can truly topple LPL’s dominance or not.
