Regarded as one of the most veteran support-adc duos in the LCK, it’s no surprise that the pairing of Deft and BeryL has drawn significant attention from fans. After joining DRX following the expiration of his contract with DWG KIA, BeryL became the new support for this team in the 2022 season. Meanwhile, for Deft, this marks a return to a place where, a year prior, he and Chovy left to join Hanwha Life Esports.

Despite both being on the downside of their careers, their past performances suggest they remain a bot lane duo full of surprises. It’s known that although they have never had the chance to collaborate before, from the very early days at DRX, both quickly exhibited an unexpected closeness and synergy.
However, when asked who they consider the most formidable opponents for the upcoming season, both Deft and BeryL chose two different names: “Which bot lane duo are you most wary of in the upcoming season?” Deft didn’t hesitate to reply: “In my opinion, Gumayusi and Keria are the two names I value the most right now. I’m really looking forward to facing T1’s bot lane.”

Meanwhile, the former support of DK shared: “For me, T1 is the team with the bot duo I have to be most cautious of. Looking at the individual skills of Gumayusi and Keria, I see they are truly excellent. Although both are still very young and lack the competitive experience of other players, their skills are genuinely impressive.”
With Deft and BeryL being seasoned players, their assessments are definitely worth paying attention to. Gumayusi and Keria are both young but undeniably talented. Not to mention, they have shown a synergy that rivals that of any long-standing bot lane duo, especially at the recent 2021 World Championship.
In the new season, T1 retains almost their entire roster that competed in Iceland just a few months ago. And surely, as the experience gaps in the younger players are gradually filled, T1 will become a formidable collective, capable of competing for any title.
