As is well known, since rebuilding their roster and truly investing in quality signings, Bilibili Gaming has transformed from a team perceived as merely a “media creation” to a real powerhouse in the League of Legends scene. Following JD Gaming and Gen.G, BLG is also considered a contender for the title. Notably, they are the runners-up of MSI 2023 and have defeated both Gen.G and T1.

However, the truth is that BLG has yet to find a way to defeat JDG whenever the two teams meet. In particular, during those matches, AD Carry Elk has performed particularly disappointing. Even when Ruler was not at his best, Elk could not surpass his senior counterpart on the other side. Elk’s subpar performance is one of the crucial reasons why BLG has not achieved favorable results against JDG.

Perhaps the repeated failures against JDG have significantly affected the morale of BLG players. Recently, in an interview, Bin stated: “If possible, I hope we do not face JDG because another team has already defeated them. Every time we meet JDG, we do not have a good outcome. Clearly, the mental issues that other opponents feel about us also affect us when we meet JDG. Of course, we still have to overcome these barriers to achieve victory.”

Bin himself is well aware that, at this moment, alongside other strong opponents, the “curse” when facing JDG is an important factor that could impact the title dreams of BLG players. Therefore, if JDG faces other opponents (besides BLG) and suffers defeats, it could, in some way, boost the morale of BLG players.

Nevertheless, before thinking about JDG, Bin and his teammates still have a massive hurdle ahead in the form of T1. Faker and his team are definitely not an easy opponent, especially since the LCK representatives have been much more cautious compared to when the two teams faced off at MSI 2023 earlier this year.
