The Community is Buzzing Over the “Conspiracy Theory” About T1
While the drama involving Gumayusi is still intense, a “conspiracy theory” has exploded within the international League of Legends community and, of course, has spread to VCS regarding the future of T1 personnel, specifically Gumayusi – Smash and the coaching staff. In brief: T1 will not use Gumayusi until at least the end of the playoffs Road to MSI, and will only use Smash. If T1 fails to reach MSI, the coaching staff will be disbanded.

At first glance, this seems like a very unreasonable “conspiracy theory” and is even harder to believe given that the source of this information comes from T1Gall – the famous anti-fan club of Gumayusi. However, if we piece together the events, it’s not entirely without reason. Even commentator Hoàng Luân has stated that “there is a 70% chance this will become reality.”
Because, if the plan to rotate the lineup is true, then Gumayusi should have returned after T1’s crushing defeat to HLE. But this did not become a reality. Thus, it can be understood that even if T1 loses more, Smash will remain the starter. And this aligns with the information that T1 will only use Smash in the current phase.

And if so, the possibility of the other part also becoming reality is very high. However, some more discerning viewers have speculated: Perhaps at that time (when losing the MSI spot), T1 will no longer use Smash. But through some announcement, T1 will retain the coaching staff and bring Gumayusi back into the main lineup. And everything will fade into the past once T1 gets back on the winning track.
Anything Can Happen Now with T1
Of course, if understood through conventional logic, the idea that T1’s coaching staff bets their careers on Smash is very hard to believe. However, with a team that is willing to bench a Marksman who has just won the World Championship twice in a row for no apparent reason, anything can happen now. And if the “conspiracy theory” becomes reality, it is simply the inevitable consequence.
