The fact that T1 has reached the finals of the LCK Summer 2021 has turned the championship-deciding match of the Korean League of Legends tournament into one of the most exciting encounters in the history of the tournament, where Faker and coach kkOma – two names that have been linked together for 7 years, harvesting the highest glories of the global Esports arena, will face off for the first time in a final.

Coincidentally, before the great battle on August 28, both Faker and kkOma share a “matching” record. During their time together under SKT as teacher and student, they won 8 LCK championships, 3 World Championships, and 2 MSI trophies together.
After kkOma left T1 at the end of 2019, Faker also secured another LCK championship in Spring 2020, before “Mama Bear” returned to the LCK and added a Korean League of Legends championship trophy to his collection as head coach of DWG KIA.
Both have 9 LCK championship titles, and in the upcoming clash between DWG KIA and T1, regardless of who wins, one of the two names Faker or kkOma will undoubtedly make history as the first in the world to achieve 10 regional championship titles.

In an interview after the conclusion of the Playoffs semi-finals, coach kkOma expressed: “Actually, regardless of which team (GEN or T1) makes it to the finals, my determination does not change; I want to win my 10th LCK championship before Faker.”
The captain of DWG KIA also showed confidence that his team could achieve a convincing victory against the old team: “We have prepared various strategies. […] Everyone has made very thorough preparations for the upcoming match, so I believe we are fully capable of finishing the match with a score of 3-0.”
As for Faker, he expressed his excitement about facing off against his former teacher, who is also a close older brother. The Demon King admitted that he never thought he would have to confront kkOma in such an important match, but this only intensified his determination to win.
