Coach Daeny Accused of Being a “Spy” Helping LCK Win the Worlds
In recent years, Coach Daeny has become quite a prominent name due to his strong personality and impressive achievements in the League of Legends scene. Even after moving to work in the LPL, this coach has still won the hearts of fans by breathing new life into WBG. In fact, at the 2023 Worlds, Coach Daeny helped WBG achieve an impressive runner-up finish despite being the fourth seed from the LPL.
However, on the night of December 11, Coach Daeny unexpectedly became the center of “drama” in the LPL region. It all stemmed from a broadcast featuring Coach KenZhu, where the former RNG captain claimed that Daeny had violated many principles while coaching. Audiences later found another video of KenZhu where this coach hinted that someone in the LPL had deliberately leaked strategies to the LCK to help this region win the Worlds.
“I know some behind-the-scenes stories and to be honest, I don’t like Daeny at all. To me, he has issues with principles in performing his coaching duties, so I don’t like him at all. He may be creating a good impression now, but when everything gets uncovered, you will have to thank me for warning you about this coach,” Coach KenZhu shared.
LPL Fans Wholeheartedly Defend Coach Daeny
It was thought that with KenZhu’s “exposé,” Coach Daeny would receive much criticism from LPL fans, but surprisingly the opposite occurred. As soon as KenZhu’s statements were widely shared, many LPL fans believed these were merely the “sour grapes” of the former RNG captain. The reasoning stemmed from the fact that Coach KenZhu has not been officially signed by any team while Coach Daeny has been recruited by the newly returning “giant” IG.
Remember at the recent 2024 Worlds, Coach Daeny had a hilariously “failed celebration” moment that quickly went viral. This moment showed that the coach truly wanted WBG to win convincingly to achieve glory at the Worlds. Clearly, with someone so dedicated to his team, it is hard to believe that Coach Daeny could be a “spy” for the LCK and disclose strategies of the LPL teams.
Therefore, the doubts of LPL fans about Coach KenZhu merely trying to create “drama” to undermine Coach Daeny’s reputation could very well be an accurate assessment. As for Coach Daeny, he has yet to make any statements to refute or clarify KenZhu’s comments. Perhaps for this coach, IG’s performance in the upcoming season will be the best answer to his integrity.
