BRO Becomes the Next “Victim” of COVID-19, Fans Worry About Faker and Teammates Getting “Hit” in Playoffs

Recently, another opponent of T1 has tested positive for COVID-19, raising concerns for Faker and his teammates.

As of now, the LCK Spring 2022 has reached the final matches of the group stage. T1 is showcasing a devastating performance with a 15-match winning streak. Not only is this shattering the previous record set by SKT T1 in Summer 2015, but Faker and his teammates are also aiming for the most perfect group stage in League of Legends history if they win their last three matches.

However, recently, once again, T1’s victory (if it happens) against their first opponent in the last three matches – Fredit BRION is at risk of becoming… less exciting. The reason is that on the afternoon of March 12 (Vietnam time) – just a day before this match takes place, BRO officially announced that all six players of their main roster tested positive for COVID-19. The team has been forced to call up their Challengers roster for the match against T1.

Needless to say, this loss could end BRO’s playoff hopes as they face T1 and then Gen.G Esports. But T1 is equally affected. First, they will have to play against a young team that certainly cannot match T1 in terms of strength and experience. Therefore, the intensity of the match may decrease significantly. Next, there is the looming risk of the disease threatening Faker and his teammates. Some fans even worry that if T1 “gets hit” as they enter the playoffs, it would be a real shock for the entire League of Legends community worldwide. Especially since the number of infections in South Korea continues to rise every day.

So the hope of beating T1 with the power of friendship is gone? Hope BRO recovers soon, this disease is really too frightening. It’s like creating a season called 'Challenger players will get a chance to compete at LoL Park'

Imagine how shocking it would be if T1 went undefeated in the group stage, got COVID-19, and lost right in the first playoff match due to playing with substitutes

However, many believe that Faker and his teammates can stay safe. According to various reports from the Korean media, T1’s facility has very strict health regulations. Moreover, according to insiders at T1, the main roster members never eat or interact with other staff in the building. Therefore, T1 can currently ensure safety.

However, some believe that T1 will be fine as this team is known for their extremely strict health protocols

Nevertheless, the worries of fans are not without basis. Especially when Faker and his teammates are having an extraordinary journey right now. If due to the pandemic, there are any impacts on T1’s performance, potentially causing them to lose the title, it would be the most regrettable thing for the League of Legends community in this Spring 2022 season.
