In recent days, one of the most pressing issues for the VCS community has been the punishment announced by the VCS Organizers for DNS Gaming. Accordingly, the VCS Organizers stated that this team was accused of colluding with individuals within the organization to manipulate results as well as engaging in dishonest behavior during competitions. The punishment for DNS is that the team is immediately disqualified from the VCS Summer 2022 qualifiers.

DNS representatives have pushed back against the VCS Organizers’ decision. At the same time, the team’s representatives declared their readiness to contest the decision and will take the matter to higher authorities. DNS’s reaction has drawn the attention of the Vietnamese League of Legends community as this is perhaps one of the rare occasions when a “punishment announcement” from the VCS Organizers has been so fiercely contested.

However, on the evening of May 5, the VCS Organizers made an official announcement regarding the punishment for DNS. Accordingly, DNS had three violations. These violations include: “The competition account was played by multiple people (in ranked mode),” “There were unusual signs in the use of new champions and failing to provide verification evidence when requested,” and finally, “The registered competition account is not owned by the user.”

At the same time, in their announcement, the VCS Organizers also affirmed that they had given DNS the opportunity to prove that this team had not violated any regulations, but DNS failed to do so within the stipulated time (48 hours). This announcement also confirmed that the VCS Organizers would provide evidence of members of this team sharing accounts with others if DNS made a “request for a hearing at the Vietnam Esports office.”

Additionally, the VCS Organizers also stated that they would expand investigations into any negative behaviors observed during the VCS tournament and cooperate with authorities to prevent actions contrary to tournament regulations and Vietnamese law.
