BLG Stars Cause Controversy After Ending Their 2025 Worlds Journey
It can be said that the 2025 Worlds, as well as the overall 2025 season for BLG, can be summed up in one word: “disaster.” Especially as the number one seed from the LPL, BLG was expected to bring the Worlds championship back to the League of Legends community in China. Accordingly, a photo has shaken Weibo, allegedly capturing BLG members in a karaoke bar sitting with female attendants and even participating in some gambling activities. However, the photo quality is quite blurry, and only one player is clearly visible among those photographed, namely ON – the Support of BLG. Nonetheless, this has ignited a wave of controversy, even drawing in professionals such as commentators, KOLs, and players from other teams.
LPL Community Discusses While BLG Players Provide “Alibis”
On the social media platform Weibo, Huanfeng – the runner-up of the 2020 Worlds also commented that BLG players are somewhat involved in sensitive issues. Meanwhile, the BLG players or those close to them immediately provided various pieces of evidence to prove their “innocence.” Specifically, Elk posted a medical receipt confirming he was sick, while Wayward stated that Knight was dining with him at the time the incident allegedly occurred.
However, an account believed to be ON’s made a post alluding to “clearing connections,” leading many to genuinely believe that the BLG players did something wrong. Nevertheless, this account’s post has since been deleted.
In this context, BLG has yet to make any statement. However, if the situation is clarified, it will be a significant disappointment for the Chinese League of Legends community. It could also be seen as a forecast for a “stormy” transfer period for BLG, with many changes likely ahead.
