Many LPL fans have targeted JackeyLove and GAM after BLG’s defeat.
In the match against JD Gaming, Bilibili Gaming was unable to secure any wins. They were completely destroyed by the very opponent they faced in the LCK Spring 2023 finals. Thus, within less than a month, BLG has suffered two significant defeats from JDG with very wide margins.
Notably, the player who faced the most criticism and had the poorest performance in the match was AD Carry Elk. From being expected to prove himself on the world stage, Elk now only brings disappointment. Perhaps the pressure of stepping onto a stage like MSI for the first time made Elk feel overwhelmed. In fact, during game 3, there were numerous instances where Elk made mistakes by stepping up in front of BLG’s formation only to be taken down by JDG without having done anything.
Witnessing Elk’s performance, many viewers compared him to veteran AD Carry JackeyLove. One sarcastic comment read: “In just one game, Elk has recreated JackeyLove’s entire career”. This comparison stems from the fact that the 2018 World Champion often has “grass tripping” moments at critical times. One of these instances was in the LPL Summer 2022 finals, where JackeyLove’s mistake led to Top Esports’ defeat against JDG.
Not only JackeyLove but also GAM Esports faced backlash. Some LPL fans took the opportunity to remind everyone of the “Love Song” team’s defeat against GAM during Worlds 2022. That defeat was even more humiliating as TES entered Worlds as the LPL runner-up. However, the loss to GAM caused them to exit at the group stage.

In reality, GAM could surprise TES, which is commendable. However, both teams are currently no longer participating in MSI 2023. As for BLG, if Elk continues to perform poorly, it is likely that when facing a crafty team like G2, the LPL representatives will face “regret”.
