BLG Eliminated from Worlds 2025 with a “Bitter Achievement”
Entering Worlds 2025 as the reigning LPL champion and the number one seed, BLG was one of the few major teams operating with an acceptable six-man roster, garnering high expectations from the Chinese League of Legends community. The players themselves were highly motivated, especially with the goal of “avenging T1.” However, recently, BLG became the second LPL representative to be eliminated from Worlds, following IG.

The loss to TES and the subsequent exit from the tournament held right in their home country marked two very regrettable achievements for BLG: They became the first number one seed in LPL history not to reach the knockout stage of a Worlds. Additionally, they are also the first LPL number one seed to be eliminated from Worlds without facing any LCK representatives.
Furthermore, since LPL started reclaiming the Worlds championship title (in 2018), BLG has also become the worst runner-up in the history of the tournament. Before BLG, all previous runner-ups in Worlds at least made it to the quarter-finals (DK). Meanwhile, T1 went on to win the championship right after finishing as runner-up the previous year.

BLG Could Face a Real “Tragedy” as Worlds 2025 Ends for Them
With the defeat to TES, not only have they been eliminated from Worlds 2025, but this season for BLG seems to have come to an end as well. Maintaining a “star-studded” roster in the current LPL is not easy, especially since BLG also has a six-man roster. Therefore, BLG may have to face significant changes after this season ends.

In the current BLG lineup, all players will have their contracts expire in mid-November. With an unacceptable performance, the likelihood that this BLG lineup will not continue together into the upcoming 2026 season is very high. However, if this becomes a reality, the conclusion for this BLG lineup is truly unimaginable.
