Big Win for OKBRO But Their Opponent Made T1 “See Clearly”

T1 has likely learned a valuable lesson after their victory against OKBRO.

The loss to Nongshim RedForce a few days ago truly worried T1 fans about their team’s journey for the remainder of the LCK Summer 2024 group stage, even when their opponent for this week’s matches was just a weak OKSavingsBank BRION team sitting at the bottom of the standings with no motivation left. The reality also showed that OKBRO still posed some challenges for Faker and his teammates. There were even moments when Faker and Zeus’s plays, not quite at max ping, left many fans on the edge of their seats during both games.

In reality, T1 also achieved their goal in the final match of the penultimate week of the LCK Summer 2024 group stage. Although it was quite a struggle, it was enough for T1 to maintain their position in the top 4 before heading into the final round. However, it seems that it was OKBRO who helped “open T1’s eyes” by using the champion that contributed to T1’s defeat against NS – Kennen.

Morgan's Kennen scored 3 kills but 2 out of 3 were in situations that traded kills after a collective gank from OKBRO on Zeus's Top Lane

The reality has shown that Kennen is a champion very hard to operate at the current time despite dealing burst damage and initiating fights well. Only in game 2 did T1 really apply pressure on the Top Lane, but that was when Morgan was playing the very strong late game champion Jax. In game 1, T1 hardly impacted Zeus’s direction. Yet, Morgan’s Kennen had no impact whatsoever. Aside from the skill issues of both players, the champion Kennen has too many factors that make it easy to be countered (the skill set relies on macro ability and timing, precise positioning; the champion is too fragile).

Sequentially, Gen.G, T1, and now OKBRO have all failed to operate Kennen effectively. The champion itself only has a 50% win rate in this year’s Summer Split, specifically in the LCK region. Perhaps, before Riot makes any adjustments to this champion, T1 needs to “say goodbye” to Kennen in the coming crucial phase, as playoffs are approaching and every match of T1 currently makes the audience extremely anxious.
