In this week’s lesson of Awesome Academy, host Phuong Thao and guest Dr. Bui Hong Quan discuss emotional management. According to Dr. Quan’s analysis, emotional management skills consist of four important parts: recognizing one’s own emotions, managing one’s own emotions, recognizing the emotions of others, and influencing and adjusting the emotions of others.
Additionally, Dr. Quan also reminded about the issue of “cyberbullying.” He pointed out that cyberbullying can have a significant impact on a person’s emotions. Managing emotions helps players protect themselves from the negative effects of internet users, thereby maintaining their personal goals as well as the paths they have chosen.

Players share about situations of losing emotional control
As a young player, Maris admitted that he once had a heated argument with teammates during training. This affected the performance of Maris and his teammates. As for Lai Bang, who is more experienced, he also admitted that he could not avoid disputes with teammates. However, he humorously acknowledged that everyone still had fun afterward and that the goal of arguing was to improve the quality of play.

Side by Side
In the Tim Incubus challenge, teams had to use their hands to find objects and describe them for teammates to guess. Not only that, teams also had to wear heart rate monitors to calculate the heart rate difference between players. Although both teams guessed 2 items correctly, Lai Bang’s team had a lower heart rate difference before and after the game compared to Maris’s team, so captain Saigon Phantom won this challenge.

In the Guessing Teammates challenge, Lai Bang’s team continued to be the winning team by guessing 4 keywords. Meanwhile, despite the defeat, Maris and his teammates still felt comfortable even after losing the first challenge.

Challenge Balance
In the first match, having to change expressions continuously also caused players from both teams to lose focus slightly. The teams consistently made mistakes, leading to a small difference. Eventually, both teams stopped caring about changing expressions and Maris’s team won after a successful skirmish.

In the Side by Side Challenge, Lai Bang’s team clearly dominated. Despite some situations requiring them to switch devices and the pressure of time, the members of Lai Bang’s team even pressed harder and finished the match before the time limit. In the deciding match, although the game was closely contested for a long time, Lai Bang’s team ultimately emerged victorious against Maris.

Emotions are incredibly important, whether one is a player or not. Managing emotions will help individuals maintain their spirit and reach the goals they have set ahead.
