On April 1st and 2nd, 2023, the Vietnam Game Festival 2023 took place at Phu Tho Stadium. This event was not only for gamers to participate in activities organized by game publishers but also aimed to honor the games, individuals, and teams that have contributed to the Vietnamese gaming community over the past year. The event was organized by the Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information of the Ministry of Information and Communications, in collaboration with VnExpress and the Vietnam Gaming Alliance.
Among the highlights, the Game Awards 2023 ceremony on the evening of April 1st at 8 PM was the most anticipated event of the Vietnam Game Festival 2023. There were 14 categories, each featuring 5 nominees, recognizing outstanding publishers, products, services, communities, teams, and gamers. Notably, the Game of the Year award was based on community votes and scores from the audience.
Accordingly, the Game of the Year award went to Free Fire. This renowned mobile game, with its vast player community, triumphed over strong competitors such as Arena of Valor and Ta La Dao Si Xuat Quan to claim victory at the Game Awards 2023.
Meanwhile, Arena of Valor dominated other significant categories, including Best Mobile Game and Best Esports Game. Lai Bang, a player from the Saigon Phantom team, also won the Best Player award, defeating renowned players like “Jungle God” Levi and Vicoi. Additionally, the SGP team was awarded Best Game Team.

With the scale and interest from a large community, the Vietnam Game Festival and the Vietnam Game Forum have become one of the largest and most prestigious gaming events in the Vietnamese gaming landscape for 2023.
