The Vietnamese Game Festival 2023 has officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of VNGGames along with many gaming companies, partners, and experts from both domestic and international arenas. This event is initiated by the Department of Broadcasting, Television & Electronic Information – Ministry of Information and Communications and is the largest gaming event ever held in Vietnam. The goal of the event is to develop the Vietnamese gaming industry in the right direction, healthily, creating many positive values for society, the community, and the economy. The event continues a series of conferences aimed at expanding the market for the Vietnamese gaming industry held since late 2022.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do – Director of the Department of Broadcasting, Television & Electronic Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) emphasized: “The Vietnamese Game Festival being held for the first time is a testament to the efforts of the government and businesses in connecting and building a strong Vietnamese gaming ecosystem, creating high economic value.” He also expressed his hope that this event will not only stop at this year but will also be held in the following years and expand from Vietnam to the international stage.
With significant economic and social potential, the gaming industry is identified as a priority focus for many developed and developing countries, especially after the Covid pandemic when many traditional industries were affected. “Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore all have three factors leading to the success of the gaming industry: support from the government, strong cooperation from gaming associations, and the vibrancy of the game programming community. I hope we will soon have similar boosts to create an open and favorable market for gaming businesses to unleash their creativity,” – Mr. La Xuan Thang, Director of Online Game Publishing – VNGGames shared.
Starting with the “legendary” game Võ Lâm Truyền Kỳ, VNGGames has now made a mark not only in Vietnam but also in the region. Over the two days of the Vietnamese Game Festival 2023, VNGGames will accompany the organizing committee to bring an Esports tournament (with the competition mode being the Teamfight Tactics). These activities are highly anticipated and will help players have experiences like a true professional athlete.
