World Championship 2022 (CKTG 2022) – the largest international tournament and the most attention-grabbing event this year for the League of Legends (LMHT) community is set to kick off. This year’s tournament boasts a lineup of many powerful and high-quality teams, if not even superior to the CKTG 2021. In fact, the MSI 2022 champion – Royal Never Give Up (RNG) almost missed out and only secured their spot in this tournament after the final match of the LPL regional qualifiers.

Recently, a power rankings (BXH) for the teams participating in CKTG 2022 has been released. This is a weekly updated ranking during the domestic leagues. After the domestic tournaments in each region conclude, international tournaments will follow. The rankings for international tournaments will be provided to give audiences more insight into the teams competing for the championship in those international events.
As expected, Gen.G Esports (Gen.G) – the reigning champion of LCK Summer 2022 is ranked the highest and takes the first position. Following them are the reigning champion and runner-up of LPL Summer – JD Gaming (JDG) along with Top Esports (TES). In fourth place is T1 led by Faker. Finally, the reigning champion of CKTG 2021 – EDward Gaming (EDG) rounds out the top five. Meanwhile, RNG has dropped to sixth place.

At this point, determining whether Gen.G or JDG is stronger is truly a tough question. Both teams are champions in their respective regions. However, Gen.G’s higher ranking is likely based on the experience of their players on the international stage. Additionally, Gen.G has shown that they possess a significant power advantage over the current LCK representatives. Thus, Gen.G’s high ranking is also somewhat fueled by the expectations of many fans regarding LCK’s potential to end LPL’s dominance.

Notably, GAM Esports (GAM) – the representative from the VCS region, is rated the highest among teams from smaller regions. In fact, GAM is regarded even more favorably than renowned teams like DRX, MAD Lions, or Fnatic, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses. This is likely due to GAM being the number one seed from the VCS region and qualifying directly to the group stage of CKTG 2022.

Conclusion
As the CKTG 2022 has not officially started, all current evaluations are merely for reference. Of course, the efforts of the teams in their recent domestic leagues cannot be denied. However, to truly prove themselves at CKTG 2022, every team will need to give their absolute best.
