Yesterday afternoon, May 17, the Vietnamese League of Legends community was stirred when information about Dia1 banned from competition for “under-the-table” dealings with SBTC Esports while still wearing the GAM Esports jersey broke out.
By the evening of the same day, the VCS organizers officially confirmed this information through a post regarding the punishment on their official social media page. Specifically, Dia1 has been banned from competition for 1 year, and the manager of SBTC Esports, who also represented Dia1 in the transfer negotiations with GAM – Mr. Cao Lê Tuấn Tú, has been banned for 2 years from owning and operating any teams within the VCS system.

However, while the entire Vietnamese LoL community shifted their focus to the information provided by Zeros shares during livestream, another individual who was also punished was “overlooked” and hardly mentioned: Coach Hồ “Iris” Minh Triệu of Burst The Sky Esports.
Specifically, the BTS coach was punished for inappropriate behavior while competing on the Korean server. The punishment for this behavior is that Iris will not participate in the Ban-Pick phase of one match in the VCS Summer Promotion in 2021 and will have his account locked on the Korean server until the end of 2021.

Yet, everyone, almost no one mentioned Coach Iris’s punishment. Even on the VCS organizers’ post or in any groups related to League of Legends, Coach Iris’s punishment was drowned out by discussions and opinions about GAM, Dia1’s punishment, and the statements from Zeros.
Perhaps at this moment, Coach Iris can “breathe a sigh of relief” because his punishment is considered the lightest and least noticed, especially since he is also a former member of GAM’s coaching staff. As for the Vietnamese League of Legends community, many are still waiting for further statements from the involved parties regarding the recent drama before the official start of the Summer 2021 season.
