A team is mentioned again after T1’s victory
There will be many things to analyze and discuss after T1’s victory over Gen.G. However, alongside the performances of the players, we cannot overlook the external factors. It can be said that T1’s victory over Gen.G gathered all the elements of timing, location, and harmony. But besides the teams directly competing, one name has been “at home” yet still remembered by many League of Legends fans. That is none other than KT Rolster – the direct rival of T1 in the famous “telecom wars” of the League of Legends community.

Specifically, since 2022, there have been three consecutive instances where the teams that won Worlds or had a chance to win were somewhat related to KT. First, it was DRX when they defeated KT in the regional qualifiers. Although they entered Worlds 2022 as the fourth seed, DRX created a miraculous journey in the League of Legends community.

In 2023, it was T1’s turn to have more “grudges” when KT confidently chose Faker and his teammates as their first opponent in the LCK Summer playoffs. The outcome was clear, and KT that year could only reach Worlds through the regional qualifiers.

And this year, KT once again appeared on T1’s journey – the team preparing to enter the final match to defend their Worlds championship. KT was T1’s opponent in the final match of the regional qualifiers. In fact, the two teams had to go through the fifth game to determine the winner.

Historical Factors Favoring T1
In all the times T1 has reached the finals of a Worlds, only in 2017 and 2022 did they suffer defeats. In the remaining four instances, they emerged victorious, and soon they will compete in their seventh final. Historical factors are favoring the LCK representatives, but success or failure lies in the hands of T1’s players and coaching staff in the upcoming crucial match.
