GAM faces issues again as they head to Worlds 2024
Currently, teams are gradually departing for Europe to prepare for the Worlds 2024 tournament, which officially kicks off on September 25 with the first matches in the Play-In stage. At this time, the two representatives from VCS, GAM Esports and Vikings Esports, have set off. However, while VKE has had a smooth journey and has fully assembled in Berlin, the reigning VCS champion GAM has faced more challenges. In fact, the team was delayed by as much as 7 hours in Istanbul, Turkey.

This means GAM can only reach Berlin around 1 AM Vietnam time if they do not encounter any further delays, which would be around 9 PM in Berlin on September 21. Excluding rest time after a long flight and the almost certain jet lag, GAM will have about 4 days to acclimate to the European server before their first match at Worlds 2024.

The international LoL community is also baffled by GAM’s “bad luck”
Notably, this is not the first time GAM has faced such troubles with delayed flights. Back at MSI 2024 earlier this year, during a simple move from Vietnam to China, the GAM members split into two flights, and one of them was also delayed. At that time, only the coaching staff arrived in Chengdu first while all the players were stuck. Many international viewers also expressed their dismay at GAM’s repeated troubles within just a few months. At that time, GAM took a staggering 22 hours to fully assemble in Chengdu.

– Why does this always happen to them? They had their visas early.
– A strange way to highlight the greatness (of Levi).
– Why did they arrive in Berlin so late when they were the first region to finish the Summer Split?
This time, GAM was delayed less, but it still represents an unnecessary hassle in their preparation for Worlds 2024. However, there may still be enough time for GAM to prepare for their first match, with their opening opponent from LJL being Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS Gaming – a team familiar to the VCS audience with Evi as a well-known name.
