The Rise of Fiora – Mage in TFT Season 12
Since the launch of TFT Season 12, the Mage trait has often been seen as a support-oriented trait. This is due to the fact that the effect of the Mage trait appears very weak at the levels with 2 and 4 champions, resulting in players having a very low power threshold in the mid-game. When compared to thresholds like 4 Vanguard, 5 Honey Bees, or 4 Shapeshifters, it is clear that Mages are at a complete disadvantage. However, this has been somewhat improved in the last two patches, as Riot Games has significantly buffed the base stats of 1-3 cost Mage champions.

Furthermore, the damage output of the 4 Mage threshold has also been buffed, helping this composition achieve a better power threshold in the mid-game. As a result, players can aim for the extremely strong 6 Mage threshold at the end game, which causes enemy champions to receive an additional 25% damage from this trait. Combined with powerful carries at this stage like Fiora or Morgana, gamers can take down the opposing team after having “overcome thousands of obstacles” in the early and mid-game.
Building the Fiora – Mage Composition in TFT Season 12
At the start of the game, players should use champions like Poppy and Zoe as the backbone and activate thresholds such as 2 Guardians and 2 Scholars… to maintain health. Lillia is a very strong unit at this stage due to her healing and significant damage capabilities. Players should equip items early for this unit to ensure survival and accumulate as much gold as possible in the early game.

At level 7, players should aim to activate the 4 Mage threshold to boost the damage of the composition. Neeko will play a main tank role, so players can also activate the 2 Shapeshifter threshold to ensure this unit’s survivability. Additionally, players may want to consider using champions like Ryze or Taric as they prove to be very strong even at 1-star level.

A crucial task for players in the mid-game is to accumulate gold and level up consistently. Even when reaching level 8, players should still save gold to aim for level 9 with strong 4-5 cost 2-star champions. Among them, Fiora and Morgana are essential picks as they provide massive physical and magical damage. Additionally, Gwen is also a very strong option when paired well with Fiora.

Some Tips When Building the Composition
Basically, the Mage composition is extremely strong when equipped with the Emblem as it can activate the 6 champion threshold very early. Therefore, players should prioritize obtaining items like Technology Components, Spells that provide Gold Shovels, or Mage Emblems. In terms of equipment, Bloodthirster is a crucial item for this composition as key carries like Fiora, Gwen, or Morgana all utilize it well. Players can build it early and give it to Lillia to “carry the team” through the difficult early game phase.
