LCK Cup 2026 Leaves Gen.G Fans Dissatisfied Due to a Detail Involving Zeus
As we know, the grand final of the LCK Cup 2026 recently took place with a swift duration and an overwhelming victory for Gen.G over BNK. Not only was it a complete destruction from the reigning MSI champion, but in the 3 matches, the Gen.G players took turns shining. In this context, Canyon received the FMVP title for his outstanding Smite plays, jungle control, and impact on the game… However, from this, many Gen.G fans felt dissatisfied with the LCK Cup 2026 organizers.

Specifically, last season, FMVP of the LCK Cup 2026, Zeus, was awarded 2 million won. However, in Canyon’s case this year, he received nothing but… the congratulations of the LCK organizers and the title recognized on League of Legends statistical platforms. Other than that, the Gen.G jungler received no cash rewards or a separate trophy for FMVP.

– Last year Zeus received 2 million won, while this year Canyon only got a handshake.
– I don’t understand why tournaments like this are cutting down on prize money?
– Maybe because it was organized elsewhere, they had to cut costs.
The debates inadvertently made Zeus a topic of controversy as well. Of course, the HLE player was only mentioned in passing, and no one intended to criticize him since this is clearly an issue with the LCK organizers, not something within the control of the former LCK Cup 2025 champion.

LCK Organizers Have Yet to Provide Any Explanation
Currently, the LCK organizers have not provided an answer regarding Canyon’s FMVP prize money not appearing (or being completely absent) compared to Zeus’s from the previous year. But still, this is the first tournament of the year, and the champion teams themselves do not have information about the prize money, so it is completely understandable that the FMVP cash prize was also cut down.
