A few days ago, the top 1 Western player, Kittingishard, posted a guide for climbing ranks in Teamfight Tactics season 3, which you can check out HERE. It seems that his rivals in the rank climb are not falling behind in the guide writing department either, as the second-ranked player, known in-game as Kiyoon, just posted a guide on building the Rebel composition on the Teamfight Tactics subreddit a few hours ago.

The strongest point of the Rebel composition, according to player Kiyoon, is that it can utilize almost all of the strongest “mercenary” units available right now, such as Gangplank, Miss Fortune, Lulu, not to mention Aurelion Sol, as he is a must-have unit. This player has one note for players: never roll, not even once, before reaching level 8 (typically around round 4-1 or 4-3). He believes the strongest Rebel composition does not use Malphite, as this unit only serves to hold health early in the game.

Early Game (Before Rock Round)
You have two options to earn gold during this phase: a win streak or a loss streak. This depends on how well you observe your opponents. If you have Ziggs and Malphite at level 2 along with some decent items (Morellonomicon or Rod of Ages) and activate the 3 Rebel combo, you can play for a win streak.

If not, you should use a loss streak strategy; continue to upgrade your Rebel units as usual but absolutely do not roll early and only level up your beast when necessary. Your goal is to earn 50 gold and maximize your returns as much as possible, simply because the 5-cost units are extremely powerful, and you need a lot of gold to level up and acquire them.
Mid Game (From Rock Round to Before Round 4-3)
After reaching 50 gold, win streak or loss streak is no longer too important (it’s good if you have one), if you are not lucky enough to have 6 Rebels early on, it’s best to use strong single units or traits. For example: Shen, Ezreal, Blitzcrank, Kayle, or any upgraded unit. Kiyoon’s experience is that a Rumble (even at 1 star) is very helpful with his area stun ability when combined with Ziggs, a demolitionist.

If you need to earn a win streak, you can roll to upgrade your composition, however, never let your gold drop below 30 during this phase. If you let your gold drop too low and can’t upgrade your composition (perhaps due to bad luck), you will lose everything in the literal sense, having no money to level up and no health to sustain in the long run.

Late Game (After You Reach Level 8)
After reaching level 8, the game will gradually move towards the late stages. You need to evaluate your composition to determine the next steps in building your team comp. According to Kiyoon, having a 1-star Aurelion Sol with decent items, a 1-star Gangplank with Guardian Angel, and most of the Rebel units at 2 stars is enough for you to save money to level up to 9.
Player Kiyoon shared that if you upgrade Gangplank from 1 star once, he becomes stronger than a 2-star Gangplank. If you don’t have this captain, you can play Lulu, Miss Fortune, or any 5-cost unit you see in the shop, as they have superior strength, so even 1 star significantly contributes to your composition.

The two strongest units of this composition are Gangplank and Aurelion Sol. For the dragon, the two essential items are Rod of Ages and Morellonomicon, while the third item can be any AP item or Dragon Claw. For Gangplank, as mentioned earlier, Guardian Angel is the most suitable; you can give him other items as long as they enhance his durability and energy.

Conclusion
Rebels are currently an extremely powerful composition in Teamfight Tactics, boasting the strength of 6 units that are nearly perfect and capable of utilizing all types of “mercenaries” to enhance their power. This is undoubtedly a signature strategy for players climbing ranks in Teamfight Tactics due to its safety and stability.
