Teamfight Tactics: Top 4 High-Skill Items for Players to Maximize Effectiveness

Utilizing items in Teamfight Tactics to their full potential is an incredibly important skill.

Chalice of Blessing

This item may be quite unfamiliar to Teamfight Tactics players due to its rare appearance in matches; however, that does not mean it is weak, just that it is difficult to use. This item grants 20 mana, 25 magic resistance, and whenever the champion equipped with it casts a spell, it restores 10 mana to allies within a 2-tile radius.

It is clear that this item is suitable for teams that rely on constant spellcasting to maximize mana regeneration, specifically, Sorcerer teams. There are two requirements to use this item effectively: first, you must arrange the team so that the champion holding the Chalice of Blessing is in the center of the formation, and second, that champion must have the ability to cast spells continuously. The champion that benefits the most from this item is likely Syndra in the Sorcerer – Star Guardian composition.

Silencing Cloak

While the Chalice of Blessing only requires skill in selecting the right champion and arranging the team, the Silencing Cloak demands that you also observe the opponent’s formation. Setting aside the item’s stats, the ability to unleash a wave of energy that causes enemies hit to have their mana cost increased by 40% is an extremely powerful effect.

This item is a huge counter to champions with high maximum mana like Ashe (125) or Miss Fortune and Gangplank (150); getting hit by this effect means they are completely removed from the battle for at least 10 seconds, which is a long time. To achieve this, as mentioned above, you must observe how the opponent arranges their formation; don’t try to hit multiple champions with the effect, just landing it on the target you need is already great.

Blade of the Ruined King

Similar to the Silencing Cloak, the Blade of the Ruined King relies heavily on the skill of observing the enemy’s formation to maximize the item’s effectiveness. The most common usage is to disable a dangerous enemy champion for a few seconds to eliminate the remainder of the enemy team.

However, an advanced skill for the Blade of the Ruined King is to use the item on Blitzcrank. Intermediate players already know how to arrange their teams so that Blitzcrank pulls a “bait” that isn’t very meaningful instead of the main carry. When using the Blade of the Ruined King, Blitzcrank will knock up that bait and pull the exact champion you need to eliminate quickly.

Trap Claw

This is an item used to counter champions that deal ranged magic damage extremely well, even stunning them, and it is a crucial factor in the late game. With the rising power of the Pilot – Sorcerer or Brawler – Void compositions, Vel’Koz is becoming quite a formidable carry that players do not know how to counter.

Our advice is to equip a Trap Claw and place it on the second or third row (a position that doesn’t take magic damage too early); as soon as Vel’Koz uses his sweeping ability on that unit, he will immediately be stunned and lose his spell. A more common situation is to help a champion dodge control skills like Blitzcrank’s Rocket Grab or Wukong’s Cyclone.
