Announced during the 10th anniversary event of League of Legends, Karma Spirit Blossom is the 1000th skin in the game, and Riot Games promised that all proceeds from the sale of this skin would be used for charitable purposes. In their latest announcement, Riot Games revealed that the community has raised over $6 million (approximately 140.5 billion VND) for charity.

In this latest announcement, Riot shared that the gaming community, the ones who contributed, will decide which charity organization will receive the funds. From April 10 to April 23, players logging into the game will be able to vote for one of three nonprofit organizations based on their region. At the end of the voting period, the organization with the highest votes will receive 50% of the charity funds, while the second and third organizations will receive 25% each.

Riot Games also ensures that they will send each charity organization on the voting list at least $10,000 (approximately 234.3 million VND) regardless of the number of votes received. Although Riot Games noted that this charity money is separate from donations against Covid-19, during this pandemic, those in need, lacking food and medical equipment, deserve even more attention.
Even though it is indirect, this $6 million will help many people ease their hardships during the pandemic. This is not the first time Riot Games has donated proceeds from skin sales to charity. Last year, they also launched a campaign donating all proceeds from the sale of the Cho’Gath Black Mist skin to the Make A Wish Foundation to help patients with terminal illnesses.
