Optimus’s LMHT Team Acquires V Gaming’s Promotion Slot, Just Two Matches Away from VCS Summer 2020

It’s highly likely that VCS fans will soon witness Optimus's return in a completely new role.

Recently, OverPower Esports – the LMHT team founded by Optimus, officially announced its participation in the VCS Summer 2020 Promotion Round after acquiring the competition slot from V Gaming Adonis (V Gaming).

This information has also been confirmed by V Gaming, which posted a farewell message to the VCS tournament while transferring the entire competition slot along with the players to OverPower Esports.

This announcement also means that OverPower Esports will replace V Gaming Adonis to participate in the VCS Summer 2020 Promotion Round alongside three other teams: QTV Gaming, FTV Esports, and Percent Team.

The promotion matches will comprise a total of 5 games, including the first round, where the two winning teams from matches 1 and 2 will compete in the Winners Final, with the overall winner earning a direct ticket to VCS Summer 2020.

The two teams that lose matches 1 and 2 will face off to determine one team to advance to the Losers Final, where they will meet the losing team from the Winners Final. This match will determine the final ticket to participate in the upcoming VCS Summer.

Alongside the announcement of acquiring the promotion slot, information about OP’s complete roster has also been revealed. Not only did they acquire V Gaming’s slot, but Optimus’s team also bought nearly the entire roster of this team.

Thus, OP’s complete roster has officially been announced, and this LMHT team is ready for its journey to conquer the VCS, starting from the upcoming Promotion Round campaign:

Notably, Optimus does not appear in this roster, neither as a player nor as a coach. This means that the former captain of Team Flash will now only serve as the team manager and will not participate directly in gameplay.

This may be somewhat disappointing news for fans of “Professor” Cuong 10 billion, as many had hoped that Optimus would return to play as the leader guiding OverPower towards VCS.

Although ranked 8th in VCS Spring 2020, compared to the strength of other teams in the promotion round, OP’s roster can still be considered very high quality. And if they perform at their best, it is possible that “Chairman” Optimus could soon return to VCS after just 2 matches.
