MVKE officially parts ways with SofM
A few days ago, Lily – representative and also SofM’s partner, unexpectedly shared a screenshot from her phone showing an album of moments from SofM’s competitive career, starting from his time in the LPL until now. About a day later, MVKE officially announced the departure of SofM as head coach while promoting Bigkoro back to the main team. This can be seen as a preparation for the future of the VCS representative.

SofM’s Future Becomes Uncertain
Thus, it can be understood that in the future, SofM could take many different paths, but each path carries potential risks or regrets. First, there is the possibility of returning as a player. However, the risk for SofM is that at this current time, if he were to compete, he might only be able to join mid-tier teams. Even regions like LEC or LTA are in a phase of rejuvenation. Not to mention, SofM has not competed for over a year since he had to temporarily “bench” himself due to MVKE losing players in the “32 players” incident.

Next, there is the possibility of announcing his retirement. Currently, SofM has been away from competitive play for quite some time, but he has never officially announced his retirement. This could hint at SofM’s official departure from the professional LoL scene as a player. If this happens, 2025 would mark a special year with three veteran jungle players in professional LoL announcing their retirement, with Peanut and Levi having already left the community in significant regret.

But whatever decision is made, it is likely that SofM has thought it through carefully. The achievements SofM has left in the professional LoL scene, especially in helping to elevate the reputation of Vietnamese LoL on the global stage, are undeniable. Therefore, whichever decision he makes, it will likely receive support from fans.
