2020 has truly been a “challenging” year for Esports event organizers as numerous tournaments across all games have had to be held online, or worse, completely canceled. Of course, the reason behind these decisions is to ensure the health of players and audiences; however, one cannot help but reminisce about the intense LAN tournaments and the electrifying atmosphere created by cheering fans.

Even at this point, most of the tournaments that have taken place in major regions of League of Legends are being held without an audience. The LPL in China has been running for some time now, and they are allowing players to compete on stage but with no audience present. In the LEC and LCS, they compensate for this by providing entertaining clips for online viewers. Even the LCK has yet to start, and we don’t know what they will do.

However, audiences in major regions must be extremely envious of Vietnamese gamers as GG Stadium, the venue for VCS Summer 2020, has recently announced ticket sales for spectators. This means that Vietnamese gamers can return and cheer for their favorite teams live in the near future.

In addition to the announcement of ticket sales for VCS Summer 2020, whether by coincidence or design, GG Stadium has also revealed six matchups for the first week of competition. Interestingly, even the lol.gamepedia page, which quickly updates information about League of Legends tournaments worldwide, does not yet have the official schedule for VCS. Perhaps they received a heads-up from the VCS organizers?
In any case, with the announcement above, the highlight match of the first week is definitely between GAM Esports and EVOS Esports on Saturday, June 20. This promises to be a gripping battle as Zeros returns to face his old friends from his time at GAM Esports.
