Only play when you have a Spatula or in the Treasure Island universe
The Golden Blade Master team is essentially a variation of the Blender composition that has existed since season 2 of Teamfight Tactics. The gameplay revolves around turning a regular champion into an overpowered one with the Undying Sword and transforming them into a Blade Master. In the first half of season 3, there was no character with this ability; however, after the 10.12 update and the introduction of Zed, this composition officially makes its return.

However, the core still relies on having the Undying Sword to function; therefore, you should only play Golden Blade Master if you get a Spatula early, which means extreme luck or it being available in a shared draft. Another option is to play in the Treasure Island universe, where you will receive plenty of items, and of course, the Spatula will have a higher appearance rate as well.

The Wooden Bow is a crucial item
With the return of the Cannon that cannot be dodged, this item has become indispensable for countering defensive compositions. The Golden Blade Master is no exception, as Master Yi, with his ability to deal true damage, is the character that requires the most attack speed and serves as the primary damage dealer.

Furthermore, with Zed becoming a Blade Master, he will have a significant amount of damage, and a few additional attack speed items will help this champion sweep the battlefield effectively. Therefore, our advice is to try to acquire as many Wooden Bows as possible since this composition has many key units and maximizes the use of attack speed items. Of course, you should still prioritize the Spatula if you have this item in the shared draft.

Don’t level up to 8 if your composition isn’t “gold-plated” yet
As matches increasingly drag on due to the emergence of many strong late-game compositions, leveling up to 8 and adding powerful 5-cost champions becomes essential. However, the essence of the Golden Blade Master team is to roll slowly, meaning you will wait until levels 6-7 to roll for 2-3 cost champions like Zed, Master Yi, Yasuo, or Shen to reach 3 stars. With 3-star champions having overwhelming power, this is the only way to win since Blade Master units do not have wide-area control.

Our advice when using this composition is to save 50 gold as early as possible, buy all the necessary units, and level up to 7 as soon as possible. After reaching level 7, continuously roll down to 50 gold to find key single units and try to upgrade them to 3 stars. Only after having at least 2 units like Master Yi and Zed “gold-plated” should you consider leveling up to 8, and even if you can get Shen and Yasuo to 3 stars, it may not be necessary to reach level 8 at all.
