GAM’s losses have revealed a long-standing issue for the team.
GAM Esports has concluded their group stage at LCP 2025 with a surprising loss to Team SecretWhales. This match shocked many because no one understood why the GAM players made so many mistakes against opponents they were very familiar with in VCS.
The loss has put GAM in a tough spot, and their first match in the playoffs will be against TSW again. However, at this point, it’s hard for fans to fully trust the reigning VCS champions as they have revealed many of their issues recently.
Firstly, the over-reliance on Levi – Kiaya must be mentioned. This play style of GAM is probably already known by foreign teams. If Kiaya is countered and Levi makes mistakes (whether proactively or reactively), the match is practically decided. Other positions in GAM have had to pick champions that maximize support for the star duo. When this duo cannot carry the team, Artemis or Aress are left helpless.
Not only Levi and Kiaya, but Aress and Elio also show inconsistent performances. Aress is no longer able to use mid-lane AD champions, leading to a certain level of “disconnect.” Elio consistently shows a lack of stability. When he performs well, GAM has one of the best supports in VCS. However, in many matches at LCP this year, Elio has not been able to show that level of play.
When all the links in the chain are going in the wrong direction, GAM’s coaching staff also makes confusing picks and bans. For instance, the team composition had almost no early-game damage in game 2 against TSW, despite it being a decisive match.
GAM Needs to Bounce Back Soon as They “Have No Backtrack”
If they lose to TSW, GAM will end their LCP 2025 journey on February 18. This is a scenario no one could have anticipated, especially when PCS teams have faced many upheavals, and many GAM fans believe they will truly be the “kings of LCP.”
But having a goal is one thing. If GAM continues to perform like they have in recent matches, it wouldn’t be surprising if they get eliminated, and GAM may have to seriously reconsider everything instead of relying on Kiaya to “transform.”
