Carry units are essential in Teamfight Tactics as they are responsible for dealing damage to the entire team. Thus, these types of units always end up being highly contested whenever a match of Teamfight Tactics occurs. This leads players to often believe that the reason they lose is due to their carries being stolen too much, resulting in a weak team composition.

However, for Grandmaster players, by building unique team compositions, they seem to always find the necessary carries. So how do they do it? Recently, a Grandmaster player from the North America server named Keima made a video explaining this, leaving many gamers in awe.
First, Keima points out the mistake of the majority of players, which is determining their team composition too early, often with just 1-2 items and units. This leads to missing out on numerous opportunities to build a stronger team composition that the shop offers. Therefore, the first piece of advice Keima gives to players is to closely observe what the shop provides, and never miss any opportunities.
The second tip from this Grandmaster is to purchase as many 4-cost units as possible, especially those with carry potential. As shown in Keima’s video, he had a strong Vanguard setup with 4 units, great items for Jhin, but he couldn’t find this unit and the most frequently appearing carry was Jinx.

While regular players might spend all their gold to roll for Jhin and Teemo, a real gamble, the aforementioned Grandmaster chose to buy Jinx and Ezreal, the units the shop provided as carries, regardless of how different this composition was from the guide. This strategy proved to be highly effective as Keima, despite playing a not-so-meta composition, easily reached the top 3.

Another approach Keima shares, based on the previous idea, is that when you decide to roll for champions, buy all the units that could potentially become carries. Don’t overly prioritize standard compositions found online; front-line champions, regardless of their composition, will only serve as tanks. The goal is to have the strongest front line possible, while the back line can be adjusted based on what you purchase.

In conclusion, the key to always finding the carries for your match is to expand your possibilities and align your team composition as much as possible. After the recent patch update, you only lose 1 gold when selling a 2-star champion at 2 gold or higher, giving you more opportunities to pivot your team; don’t restrict yourself to any specific strategy found online.
